Ein super interessantes, überraschend dickes Heft, rund um den Film mit Edward & Bella!Der Preis ist auch nicht zu hoch-ich glaube, das Heft hat an die 120 Seiten... Ich finde die Hintergrundinfos sehr toll und die Fotos von Darstellern und Drehorten sind super! Nebenbei lernt man noch ein bischen Englisch- ist ja auch nicht übel! Für Fans der Twilight-Saga und Leute, die wie ich ungeduldig auf den Film warten-ein Muß!!!

++++ (ein Amazon Kunde): wieder ein gelungener Companion
Der Companion zur zweiten Staffel unterscheidet sich nicht vom Aufbau her vom ersten Companion. Er ist überweigend s/w gehalten hat aber viele Fotos zu den einzelnen Artikeln. Am Ende des Bandes sind auch wieder einige der Promo-Bilder in Farbe und Hochglanz. Zu jeder Folge gibt es ausführliche Informationen, Musikangaben, Zitate und eine Zusammenfassung. Also das, was man von einem Companion erwartet. Auch die Characterinformationen sind interessant geschrieben und lesenswert. Ich gebe vier Sterne, da ich mir doch wünschte, dass der Companion (wie andere auch) komplett farbig wäre. Dennoch, jeder Supernatural-Fan wird hier seine Freude dran haben.

+++ (ein Amazon Kunde): In Zeiten des Internet mehr als fragwürdig!
Ich kaufe mir fast alles, wo Star Wars draufsteht. George Lucas kann sich also glücklich schätzen, daß ich im Monat einiges für sein Unternehmen tue, allerdings wird es diese Encyklopädie nicht zu mir nach Hause schaffen: Im Gegensatz zu den sehr schönen "Essential Guides", die neben tollen neuen Artworks auch oft neue Informationen bieten, beschränkt sich diese 3.Auflage der Star Wars Encyklopädie wie gewohnt eher auf Text und bietet kaum neue Bilder. Es gibt zB eine Zeichnung von Mirta Gev, eine Übersicht über Astromech Droiden und Lichtschwerter. In Zeiten des Internet ist mir das einfach zu wenig, da es in der Natur der Sache steckt, daß jede Encyklopädie bei Drucklegung schon veraltet ist empfehle ich Fans Online Wikis wie Wookieepedia. Wenn man wirklich jede Info zu Star Wars in ein Buch stecken will hat das nicht nur drei Bände. Fazit: Lieber das Geld in andere Star Wars Literatur investieren außer man muß alles haben.

...,schwer, auf Englisch, genial. Da steht wirklich alles drin. Hier wurden sämtliche Informationen auch jenseits der bekannten Bücher und Filme gesammelt und aufgelistet. Das komplette Expanded Universe inkl. aller Nebenprodukte wie "Ewoks" oder "Droids". Ergänzt werden die Einträge noch durch Bilder, Zeichnungen etc. Ein schönes Sammelstück...Für jeden Fan ein Muss...

Dieses Nachschlagewerk ist ein "Must Have" für jeden Star Wars Fan, und den, der es werden möchte. Hier findet man alles, was man wissen möchte. Z.B. den Stammbaum von Anakin bis hin zu den Kindern von Prinzessin Leia und Han Solo. Aber auch die Waffen werden genau erklärt. Dieser Kauf lohnt sich auf jeden Fall!

Eine wahre Freude für jeden Daniel Craig Fan, sehr zu empfehlen, lasst euch überraschen. Warum es allerdings zwei Ausgaben vom selben Buch gibt ist mir unklar. Habe mich für diese Version entschieden, weil sie günstiger war als die andere.

+++ (ein Amazon Kunde): Trotz schöner Ansätze enttäuschend - vorsicht beim Online-Kauf.
The Art of The Dark Knight ist eine kleine Enttäuschung. Das Buch enthält auf ca. 50 der 240 Seiten sehr schöne Skizzen, Product Artwork und kleine Texte. Bedacht wurden der Batsuit, der Tumbler und das Batpod, der "Bat-Bunker" und Chicago als Shooting-Location für Gotham City, sowie des Jokers Make-up und Anzug, Two-Face. Nicht behandelt wurde: alles andere. Rachel Dawes, Harvey Dent (nicht Two-Face), der Mob, Waynes City-Loft, Alfred, Loeb und so weiter. Mehr Close-Ups von Kostümen und Sets wären schön gewesen. Da waren noch Industriegebiete, Clubs, Büros, die Infrastruktur von Gotham mit ihren Brücken und Fähren, über all das hätte ich gerne mehr gesehen. Die Texte fallen etwas kurz aus, Interviews sind selten länger als zwei Sätze. Man hätte soviel mehr daraus machen können. Die Informationsausbeute ist dürftig. Richtige Aha-Effekte gibt es nicht. Die restlichen fast 200 Seiten (!) sind dem Script gewidmet. Versteht mich nicht falsch, ich finde es klasse, das Script zum Nachlesen zu haben. Die eigentliche Frechheit ist, dass das komplette Script recht großzügig wie der Rest des Buches auf schweres Hochglanzpapier gedruckt wurde. Damit\'s nicht so auffällt, sind die Seiten mit ein paar Screenshots aus dem Film aufgepeppt, die sind allerdings viel zu klein, um sie wirklich zu genießen. Herausgekommen ist ein recht dicker Band, der sich von außen den Anschein gibt, als würde viel mehr in ihm stecken - mehr Kunst, mehr Wissenswertes. Schlimm ist, dass man es von anderen Film-Kunst-Bänden viel besser kennt. Im Grunde ist es also nicht "The Art of The Dark Knight" - das Buch hätte richtigerweise "The Dark Knight: Illustrated Theatrical Script" heißen müssen. Wer sich für dieses Buch interessiert, sollte mal reinschauen, bevor er es (online) kauft.
+++++ (ein Amazon Kunde): The Art of the Bat - Details wie man sie sonst nirgends findet.
Seit einiger Zeit veröffentlichen bestimmte Filmstudios Bücher zu einigen ihrer Filme. Warner veröffentliche ein solches Buch über Batman Begins und jetzt auch über The Dark Knight. Dieses Buch ist sowohl optisch als auch vom Inhalt sehr zufriedenstellend. Man erfährt hier einiges über den neuen Anzug, den Batpod und vieles mehr. Ganz besonders die Bilder sind wirklich toll und zeigen wie detailgetreu der Film doch umgesetzt wurde. Das wohl Interessanteste ist das Drehbuch. Denn das ganze Script und teilweise auch Screenplay ist in diesem Buch vertreten. Ganz besonders für Leute die gerne ein Drehbuch hätten ist dieses Buch jeden Cent wert. Für Batman Fans ein Pflichtkauf. Für Nolan, Bale, Ledger Fans ein Pflichtkauf. Für Filmfans ein Pflichkauf. Für The Dark Knight Fans ein Pflichtkauf. Mit diesem Buch kann man nichts falsch machen. Daher bekommt es auch, sowohl von der Qualität als auch von der Optik, 5 von 5 Punkten. Sehr Empfehlenswert. PS: Dieses Buch ist zur Gänze, damit ist auch das Drehbuch gemeint, auf Englisch.

Errol Flynn reveals all in this very well written autobiography. He is truly one of the most misunderstood people of the twentieth century. Besides that, he focuses on his love of writing, and I\'m willing to compare his work to the likes of Twain, Hemmingway, who have you. If you like action, romance, drama, and comedy--Flynn is your man, and no one can tell the story better than himself. Read This!
+++++ (ein Amazon Kunde): Why can't I be Errol Flynn?
I thought this was one of the best books ever written. It is completely fascinating throughout. The reason I read it is because I love David Niven who used to share a house with Flynn. After reading it I became a big Errol Flynn fan, and bought loads of his old films. I also recommend The Moon\'s A Balloon (the best ever autobiography) & Bring On The Empty Horses by David Niven which are fantastic and talk about some of the same people in Hollywood.

I loved this book. Errol was a great actor and a great adventure. This book takes us to far away lands and brings us to Hollywood. It is is a must read for anyone that enjoys reading travel journals and stories from Hollywood. It incorporates both into a very entertaining book!

with all the underhanded efforts by some to tear down this historic figure it is fascinating to read flynns spin on his life. no doubt a stretch for the average joe to comprehend. however, his was a life unlike any prior or since. a compelling read and a must for anyone seeking the story from the man himself. a tragic story of a man who lived as others only dream.

The author shares his craft with literally HUNDREDS of storyboards and photos, showing different shots, angles, perspectives and their effect on the viewer. This is the kind of book you wish you could find every time you went hunting for knowledge.

This is an excellent book on classical film directing. The storyboards it includes from North By Northwest and The Battleship Potemkin, among others, are inspirational. It breaks down the classical shooting style in a fashion that is simple and clean...maybe at times a little too simple. Nonetheless, I\'ll keep it in my library forever!

When I entered college to recieve a bachelor\'s degree, I wasn\'t quite sure what I wanted to do. I ended up choosing a degree in acting, but have since wondered if that was the wrong choice. In the last year of college, I became interested in film direction, but felt it was to late to pursue that career. Mr. Katz\'s book has changed my mind. In less than one week, I learned more about the technique of film direction than I ever learned in numerous film, and television classes. This book was easy to read, yet not easy in subject matter. It challenges the reader to visualize the subject matter, and to work out common problems in his/her head. It uses an extensive study of soryboarding from both classic and fictional films to easily illustrate his technique. Although Mr Katz uses a pretty set theory of film mechanics, he does challenge the reader to experiment and to create new and exciting art. This book is a must for beginners in the film industry, and I have a hunch that advanced artists could learn a lot from it too.

+++ (ein Amazon Kunde): Buch für Anfänger
Das Buch kam in der angegebenen Lieferzeit an. Die Aufmachung ist gut, doch schon das Notenbild erinnert an meine erste Klavierstunde (alles riesen groß). Es ist ein absolutes Anfängerbuch mit Akkorden. Es handelt sich nicht um die Klavierbegleitung sondern eher um die agbedruckte Melodie mit einer stark vereinfachten Begleitung. Für Anfänger sicherlich gut, ich hatte mir aber die Originalbegleitung erhofft.
